Art Exhibit

Information about the upcoming exhibit at the Executive Building:

The exhibit place will be at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe St. Rockville, MD 20850.

Art work to be delivered on April 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Art work will be displayed for the whole month of April. You may like someone to deliver the art work for you if you prefer. Unframed canvas must be painted on the sides. Every piece submitted will be displayed. No judging takes place and no fees (FREE). Our intention is to educate the community at large about the high quality of art work that the talented women are capable of producing.

Art work must be collected by exhibitors on Monday April 30, 2009 between 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please e-mail info@nmwia.org or mwiamail@yahoo.com for other arrangements.

Reception will be held on April 24, 2009 between 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The program will start at 6:30 and ends at 8:30 p.m. We usually present a lecture about art and Islamic Arts. If you happen to know someone who can demonstrate or speak about such topics please let me know. We invite the people to eat while we have some live ethnic music. If you know someone who is willing to perform please let us know.

The County Staff will hang the art work. Exhibitors must enclose insurance papers with their applications to be submitted to the County Office of Risk Management on the same day the art work is exhibited.

Exhibitors are required to e-mail MWIA address info@nmwia.org or mwiamail@yahoo.com their artist statements with their contact address, e-mail, and website together with a list of their art pieces described as follows:

Title

Dimension

Media

Price

It is very important to provide such info. It will be printed on 8 ½”x11” pages to be available for the visitors of the exhibit.

Exhibitors may be requested to help, if they have the time, to be present to direct the staff to how and where they would like their pieces to be displayed.

It is always appreciated if the exhibitors contribute ethnic finger food. We usually serve food to be enjoyed by the people who attend the reception.

We also like some exhibitors to submit via E-mail one sample of their art work to be chosen for printing as a cover for the invitation to the reception. It should be submitted with their applications.

If you need more information or questions please contact MWIA e-mail address mentioned above.
